The recognition of Nigerian music as a global phenomenon is facilitated by a slew of recognized and unsung players alike. Producers are prime members of the latter set whose cardinal inputs have been downplayed by the virtue of working from behind the scenes – away from the public eye.
Music producers have since time immemorial propounded sonic palettes that instigate pop culture in Afrobeats. They lay the groundwork for which the vocals and lyrics of artists feed into.
Some popular artists do more than just singing and writing music. Some of them are also skilled music producers. AE News took a look at one of the popular music producer and artist known as ’David AceKeyz’
David Elumelu Chifumnanya, better known by his stage name David AceKeyz, is a Nigerian music producer and artist, from Delta State
He enjoyed and love music from his early childhood where started playing drums at the age of 3 years but later was introduced to different genres of music by his father.
Being from a Christian family and that he used to along with for church services, there he played instruments and started making his own beats at the age of 9
David attributes his career encouragement towards the family and friends who have been supportive of his efforts to getting professional.
The Delta state born artist has grown into one of Nigeria’s foremost producers. He has been involved in churning out popular musical hits with diverse artists such as; Aye by Nappy and Burnaboy, I de Miss You, As Always by Skales, Rosa by Skales and Rotimi, Facility by Cheekychizzy, Ice Prince and Slim Case.
Still then, he also further produced Juice by himself, OdumoduBlvck,Big 17(Alex Lwobi), Right by Josh Dre and a couple of them for the Kabusa Choir including Valentine is coming.
Some unreleased tracks for Jude Nnam,Teni,Dbanj,Wande Coal,Jrymes, Victor Velmo and others.
Besides that, with the up coming Abuja Music and Business awards (AMABA) slated for December 18th. at Alabama Global Resort, David AceKeyz will be in full swing to entertain the funs to his best.
With the sky being the limit, David hopes to produce for other artists in Africa and the rest of the World since he is still young and keenly ambitious about his career.
David is expected to perform in the upcoming “Who is the next African model” event scheduled for November this year in Kigali, Rwanda.
