Nigerian UK-based gospel music sensation, Somy Ohuabunwa has launched her Second Single, titled, “For Your Good” which is targeted to inspire hope, encouragement, and trust in God for those going through trying times.

“For your good” is a sweet and inspirational song of hope, encouragement, and trust in God in spite of the pain of failures, heartbreaks, and difficulties of life. It’s an inspirational song written by Somy and produced by Sunny Pee.

After bursting onto the music scene a few months ago with her hit debut single video, “onye’m nno na obi ya,” earlier in the year, singer-songwriter Somy has cemented her place as one to watch in 2022. She continues to showcase her tremendous talent and versatility as a musician.

Notwithstanding, the melodious way Somy freestyles in her music, her works obviously reveal her passion. Even before she professionally became a music artist, she was already known as an artist who does music and freestyle effortlessly.

Somy through her Sophomore reassures her fans and listeners of God’s promise to turn disappointments into blessings for his children.

Stressing on why she sang her latest song, she said, “I don’t really remember, but I know “for your good” comes from the mindset that every disappointment we face in life is a blessing for us as children of God. Regardless of the challenges we face, one thing is certain; God is always and will continue to work for our good.

“The main message is hope, encouragement, and trust in God in trying times. We all face disappointments and challenges in life, it could be health challenges, heartbreaks, marital disappointments, child, gender disappointments and financial distress, etc. But, as children of God, I strongly believe that in spite of the pain, heartache, and frustration that comes with these challenges, God is certainly working for our good. We may not see it right now, but in our waiting, He is working. His plans for us are of good and not of evil, to give us a bright future and an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11,” she explained.

According to Somy, her strength as a gospel artist is songwriting. “The melody, lyrics, arrangement and all come to me so easily. Also, many people don’t know this, but I am a very good dancer,” she added.

The secret behind this unobstructed and vibrant freestyle flow seems quite unusual compared to the conventional style as Somy doesn’t even have to follow the rules of music.

The complete creative embrace of that cross-genre fusion obviously becomes her strongest point in the creative process when writing her Sophomore Single. According to the Nigerian, UK-based gospel artist said that she draws her inspiration from God.

“The melody of this song was given to me by the Holy Spirit. I was doing the dishes one afternoon when the Holy Spirit dropped the melody and chorus in my heart. All I had to do was write the verses based on my life experiences and of those around me, which I know most people can relate to. This song is based on a true life story.”

No doubt, Somy is ready to dazzle the stage in the coming months with her official video of “For Your Good,” among other works.

She said, “I’m currently working on the official music video for my new single and also working on the production of a few more singles and videos which would be released by the end of the year, by God’s grace.”
